Statue of Bartje

Bartje is the main character in a series of Dutch books that were later also shown in a television series. The stories are about a boy that grows up in the province Drenthe in Holland. In Assen, the capital of the Dutch province Drenthe, you can find a bronze statue of Bartje in front of the above building. If you ask people who is Bartje most often they will quote one of the most famous words he said in one of the stories: "I don't pray for brown beans!" He had to say grace but as he hates brown beans he refused to do so.

Route des Cretes

After the luging fun we drove part of the Route des Cretes in the Vosges Mountains. We ate baguette and French cheese on a picknick place with a beautiful view on the Vosges en on lake Longemer. Driving along in the Hohneck area. The Hohneck mountain is one of the highest peaks in the Vosges Mountains. It is really beautiful up there!

According to our kids luging is cool on the Col de la Schlucht in the Vosges Mountains in France. With a chair lift you go to the top ........... and with the luge you speed down again!

Heart of hearts

Heart of hearts

When it feels like your logical mind is driving you around in circles and has become an obstacle to effective decision making, block out its chatter and noise for a while, and tune into your heart. Listen carefully to it. You will instinctively know when its harmonies strike a balance with the underlying melody of your mind. Only then should you take action.
