This is the Chapel bridge in Lucerne, Switzerland. It is a very old wooden bridge. The colourful flowers all along both sides of the bridge made the old bridge look fabulous!

So curious!

The other day I posted this little car and caravan that came to our camping. Well it looked so fanatastic that as soon as the owner parked the car and caravan, people came from everywhere to take a look (including me!). We all wanted to look inside the caravan. Amazing: the owner really sleeps in it!He anticipated all curiosity by putting this sign on the inside of the door. It says that you have to put 0,10 Swiss frans in the box for every photo taken! LOL!

Ferries on the Vierwaldstättersee

Ferries take people between places on the Vierwaldstättersee. They all carry the Swiss flag as you can see very well on the picture above. This picture is taken one afternoon on the boulevard in Lucerne when the weather was slowly turning dark and rainy. Picture below is taken on a nice sunny day from our camping in Merlischachen.

Suspension bridge

In Sattel a skywalk opened a few weeks ago and we went on it: 374 m pedestrian suspension bridge. Above is as far as I dared to go so I walked over the road and took a look from the valley side to see it hanging above the abyss!

Ferries in Basel

In Basel these little ferries really amazed us as the current pushes the boat across the river! The ferries are attached by a cable to a block that rides along another cable that spans the river at a height of ca. 25 meters.

Snowy tops

Very clear view from the camping over the Vierwaldstättersee. In the distance we can even see the snowy tops of the Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau.

Frescos in Tell's chapel

Ah there it is Tell's chapel on the spot where the legend says William Tell escaped from the boat of bailiff Gessler. Sitting in front of the chapel with lovely frescos inside depicting scenes of the legend.

Shadows on big white pots

This weeks shadows I captured while on holiday in Bingen, Germany. Cycling along the Rhine boulevard I noted these big white pots filled with geraniums and casting lovely shadows on the pots!

Pendulum shadows

Where we live there are many antique stores selling all kinds of antiques. Walking around I noted this antique shop window where they sell parts of antique clocks. The different shadows of these pendulums for antique clocks caught my eye. Some pendulums are very simple, whereas others have delicate angel shapes on the pendulum self and even other pendulums have very decorative rods. The shadows show this very well.

Enjoy your Sunday! Over here in Holland we are enjoying a heat wave and again near tropic temperatures making you sweat without doing a thing! Orange is the colour and everybody is looking forward to this evening: the final match of the world cup 2010: Spain - Holland!

Old school lane

This morning I set off on my bike .......
while cycling the wind brought some relief from the heat.....
we're experiencing a period of near tropic temperatures here in Holland.....
unheard of and not very comfortable......
I cycled past this old school lane.....
passed it many a time by car but never took time to stop and take a picture.....A closer look at the sculptures ......
They look like a farmer and a woman to me.....
don't know why.....
have to see if I can find more about this old school lane .....
