More shadows

Another shot of the shadows in a flower. This small camera I have makes great macro shots. On the second picture you see the whole flower and last but not least a picture of my shadow crouching down to take a shot. My son laughed when he saw me and said: "next time you will be lying on the ground to take a picture". Oh yes I would if necessary.

Photo hunter - creamy

Very creamy pieces of soap that are much too pretty to use. The one with the dolphin makes me dream of the blue Mediterranian sea where I used to live and the one with the camel reminds me of a long-ago holiday in Tunisia when me and hubby sat on a camel that took us to Matmata. As a soap I love the colours and shape of the camel most.
It amazes me that such things can be made.

Another exam

Regular readers of my blog know that, even though I'm a young middle aged person, I am still a student and love nearly every minute of it. It is so good to be able to learn new things. Going to college is a delight and those 4 hours every week pass very quickly. Also studying at home is no problem at all.

However exam time is another thing for I hate that period. The weeks before an exam the tension rises and it feels as if all free time is gobbled up by manuals and even during the exam the stress is high. Who would have thought that of an elder student who should know that there is more to life than passing exams.

Anyway today I had to do an exam and next week I have another. That will hopefully be my last exam for a very long time. After all these years I took some pictures to show you where I have done most exams in the past six years: in a sports hall! LOL ..... and for those of you who think I never sweat in a sports hall: today I did!

In the heart

The other day I even noted a snail in the heart of this flower. Well it does make a nice shot!

Tasty leaves

Hate it when snails eat the leaves of beautiful plants in our garden. But what to do? Once I heard they only appear in the evening and I should sprinkle some granules to keep them away. Still I wonder where these snails remain during the day. In the ground.............?

Rusty shadow

Oh my it's Sunday again and time for a shadow shot. Noted this shadow last week during our walk. The shadows of a rusty piece of art fell on the church wall in the early evening.

Ballet The Four Seasons

This evening I saw a ballet show called The Four Seasons. It was a very colourful show and it was a delight to see all these young ballerinas dancing over the stage. Here are a few impressions.

Little bridges

Walking over the grounds of a former estate we came across several little bridges. These bridges were quiet dainty in a way and such things always make me wonder about history. Walking near the mansion is prohibited but the rest of the grounds are open to public.

Take a walk

Just a cloudy, not too cold Spring day. Good weather to go for a walk in the forest. Beautiful scenery everywhere.A field filled with yellow flax.
Ah this beauty was hiding for me.Another lovely path to walk along.A white path, looked like winter, but this was not cold but fluffy. A closer look at all that fluffy stuff. If I am right it contains the seeds of the Populus tree dispersed by the wind.

Succulent shadow

Over here in Holland the weather is quiet rainy and it's even cold outside. Brrr. No shadows around here right now but I anticipated and took a shot last weekend of a shadow made by a basket filled with succulent plants. This basket was a birthday gift for both of us when hubby and me celebrated turning 100 years old together, a few months ago!

Photo hunter - advertisement

Beneath you see the letter box of our house. It brings me real letters from several friends around the world that still write and post a real letter. It also brings us daily and local papers and things we can do without like bills and tax letters. But the biggest nuisance used to be the advertisement leaflets. Loads of paper that we looked through once before getting rid of it via the paperbox. During the years the amount of advertisement leaflets seemed to have doubled. The weekly pile for the paper recycling box became bigger and bigger. We tried to find a solution and heard about this sticker that forbids dropping advertisement matters in our letter box but allowing the remaing stuff to be put in.

For those of you who can't read Dutch: NEE means NO to advertisements and JA means YES to other stuff. And it works!! for since we put the sticker on we don't get the advertisement leaflets anymore. YES!!!
