Positive results

All these flowers just for me to celebrate the fact that I got positive results for the exams I did in June.

Oh I feel so happy to have passed these exams. I would have hated to do a law subject all over again.

Now I can start with a new subject in September. Still about 4 subjects to go and a final Bachelor project.

And that at my age!!! It proves you are never too old to learn!

Nostalgia

The moment we heard that Mamma Mia the movie would be in the cinemas we knew we just had to see it.

As long as I remember I have been an Abba fan. A few years ago we saw the musical and it was wonderful.

After all the rain we had today (it looked like Autumn and not at all like the first day of summer holidays in this part of Holland) we thought it a good evening to go to the cinema. And it was just great!

It was funny to see "James Bond" singing in this movie. Besides all the beautiful Abba songs it was a delight to see all the local people join in the singing. Even though we know the story of this movie (somehow I recall having seen an Abba movie before) we had a lovely evening. At times we laughed our heads off and for me it brought back memories of days long ago.

I have a dream.......................... oh well I'd better be off now, goodnight!

Labyrinth

Just finished reading Labyrinth by Kate Mosse. The story is about a young English woman who finds a cave with hidden secrets of centuries ago. It tells her story and the story of another woman who lived in Carcassonne 800 years before. This woman, Alaïs, had to protect the secret of an ancient book. Together with two other books it contains the secret of the Holy Grail.

According to the back cover the book is better than the Da Vinci Code. Must say I don't agree. Labyrinth made a good read and kept me suspended but the Da Vinci Code kept me spellbound and was very hard to put away. That wasn't the case with Labyrinth for me.

Still it was a great book to read and I can recommend it to anybody who likes this genre.

Photo hunter - What IS that?

What IS that? that's the question I asked on seeing this thing standing in a little garden we visited last week on De Posbank. According to hubby it is a place specially made for creepy crawlies! On giving it a closer look it had all these holes and entries everywhere. See for yourself:

Country walk

Perfect weather to go for a walk in the countryside. The peacockhouse Through the forest.
A flock of sheep. Crossing a little path over the water.Wonderful paths through the forest. And then out in the open through the heathland. Oh yes that's a perfect tree to climb in.
Time for a drink.
Here we are on the highest point called De Posbank (85 m above NAP). From there you have a lovely view over the surrounding area.On our way back.Horses in the distance. The last part back through the forest.
Here I look back and can still see the heathland in the distance.

Photo hunter - support (2)

In the end I went through all my digital photo's to come up with something. This photo was taken in 2000 and shows these bows that support the grapevines that grow there. We always call this the wine camping and we often spend a night there on our way to the South. And here our daughter is giving support to War Child by helping as a waitress in a restaurant. Phew, this was a difficult theme for this week's photo hunter.

Photo hunter - support (1)

Right now I am surfing the internet trying to come up with an entry for this week's theme. Perhaps by visiting other photo hunters posts I will find support in getting a luminous idea for something to post.

Just in case I don't come up with anything, here's wishing all of you a great weekend!

The Royal Mile

My mum and I went to Apeldoorn today to walk the royal mile. Wow it was a real colourful walk with lovely flowers on both sides of the path. It was a delight for my camera and I took way too many photo's. Here are a few to show you how wonderful it was.

At the end of the royal mile there was a tower overlooking the whole path.

Photo hunter - pointed

This week's photo hunter theme made me think of this patchwork cushion with it's pointed design which I made many years ago when I learned how to do patchwork. I made three pillows with the same fabrics but each had a different design. This is the only one I still have and that's because I really liked it's pointed pattern. It makes me think of the sun and the stars. Besides that I remember what a work of precision making it was!
