Rumpelstiltskin

Yesterday evening I went to see the musical Rumpelstiltskin performed by the youth musical group in our town. It was a perfect show and I really enjoyed myself. The young stage director, he is only 21 years old, gave the classic fairytale a modern nuance. Here Rumpelstilskin sits on the lap of the miller's daughter offering to spin the straw into gold in exchange for something special. On this picture you see the two valets Minimum and Maximum, the king and the miller's daughter. Those two valets names made me laugh. One valet was really small and the other so much bigger (LOL). This is the part of the story where the narrator makes time pass a little quicker by putting the wedding and the birth in the same scene. A very clever way of making the story keep its speed."And oh! I am glad that nobody knew
That the name I am called is Rumpelstiltskin!"
The choreograph did a great job setting the dance number in this scene.
Rumpelstilskin comes to get the baby but didn't have a chance as they finally came up with his name and put him in prison!
Notice the colour effects the crew gave those curtains and the background the whole show round to suit every part of the story.
WOW, what a great idea!
Can't give you a close up of the make-up or the clothes but believe me they were fantastic. Besides that the life orchestra accompanied the musical numbers in a harmonious way making them a delight to listen to. The solo numbers were sung loud and clear.

Congratulations to all those that worked on this wonderful musical!
I had a great evening.
