Already 2 years ago I made this card of photo's taken in the forest. Autumn! And now it is nearly Autumn again. Hard to believe when the weather hasn't been very summerlike here in Holland this year. In a way we still seem to be waiting for summer to come and yet summer is over. Don't misunderstand me for we had lovely summerholidays and the weather wasn't too bad. But we missed out on that real summer feeling with hot, humid evenings. Nothing to do about that now so here is a welcome to Autumn and with Autumn in mind the first part of a poem of John Keats, I studied long ago for English literature, comes to me:

To autumn
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shell,
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'erbrimmed their clammy cells.
